Hello, I’m Wayne and I was a Product and Macro Photographer for seven years. Here you will find a selection of my work and my thoughts behind the pieces, including images I have used to represent my blog posts.

I worked at Blowers Jewellers for seven years as Web & Photography Manager specialising specifically in Watch Photography. Made redundant during the pandemic and cut off from a lot of my professional images, I am now looking to diversify my portfolio.

I have named my portfolio website ‘a moment in time’ as that’s what a photograph is to me, a single shot, a limited frame of information, an isolated moment, but from that a story can be told. Even a simple generic product shot can offer a lot more. As with my shots at Blowers, I did what I liked to call honest photography. We are trying to sell a product but instead of washing the product of personality and photoshopping it to perfection, we are more interested in showing the character and history of the piece and its true qualities. When you are photographing a watch once owned by Elvis for example you can start to see how a clean stock image just isn’t suitable.

We were selling a story, a lifestyle, a desire first and a physical product second. And that is part of my love of photography, creating for an experience just as in music or storytelling.

I am currently working as a postman as I wanted to be out in the world helping during the pandemic. It has been a very interesting experience and I now have nothing but respect for post-people and how they manage to keep going in a very demanding and physical environment.
