It was time for a camera upgrade. I’ve gone from my Sony A230 to a Sony A6400. My A230 was a nice camera but the difference is notable straight out of the box. Image quality, functions and size are all significant improvements. Not only are there a fair few years between their respective releases, the A230 was close to a base model while the A6400 is anything but. So the jump in quality is no surprise.

The big jump for me was moving away from a DSLR to a mirrorless camera, but I’m sure it was the right time to make the switch. I managed to get an A to E mount converter, which allowed me to keep my current lens collection. Some lost the autofocus function but these were lenses which I would rarely use autofocus.
